17.3. Creating an Email Link

An email or mailto link looks like a normal hyperlink, but instead of sending the browser to another page, it opens the visitor's default email program and creates a blank message with the email address of your choice in the To field.

An email or mailto link opens the visitor's default email program and creates a blank message with the address of your choice in the To field.


To create an email link, select the text in the document window that you want to make clickable, and then go to the Insert panel. Click the Email Link object shown in Figure 17-11 to open the Email Link dialog box shown in Figure 17-12.

Type the recipient address for the email message in the E-Mail field, and click OK to add the link.

TIP

If you haven't added the text of the email link to your page, choose an insertion point, and click the Email Link object anyway. Type the text directly into the Text field of the Email Link dialog box.
