Summary

This chapter deals with the often required techniques in Forms query processing and validation and navigation. The techniques for programmatically canceling a query and the programmatic equivalent of Cancel Query while in Enter Query mode were discussed. The subtle differences between WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM and WHEN-VALIDATE-RECORD triggers and an enhanced Exit Form functionality were highlighted. Finally, the usage of the same trigger at multiple levels was discussed and the idea of a block-level commit was presented.
