So adding panels to your layout is fairly straightforward, but removing one might not be. Sure, you could always just uncheck the panel listed in the Window menu, but panels aren't always listed just there. Instead of going through all the menus to find what caused a panel to appear, just go straight to the source of your angst. To remove any individual panel from your interface, simply expand the panel (it cannot be collapsed when doing this), go to the menu at the top right of the panel, and click and choose Close Panel. Now that panel has been removed from your life forever. Well, at least until you enable it again.
