Summary

In this chapter, we have looked at utilizing stored procedures for effectively maintaining, securing, and optimizing our database, independent of the client applications that use it. We have discussed how creating function-specific stored procedures allow the DBA to optimize each individual area of function in the context of the complete application. We have also looked at the increased performance and easier maintainability resulting from stored procedures.
