This chapter presents Microsoft Word features and techniques that can make it easier for you to work with other people to produce a document. You might, for example, collaborate with other authors, editors, reviewers, proofreaders, or indexers. The members of your workgroup might work on a single copy of a document, which is shared on a network or is routed from one person to another using Microsoft Exchange Server on a network or simply using a floppy disk. Alternatively, you might distribute a separate document copy to each member using a network, electronic mail, or floppy disks. This chapter focuses on the Word-specific techniques for preparing and working with shared documents. The mechanics of sharing documents using networks, electronic mail, and Microsoft Exchange Server are discussed in "Sharing Documents in a Workgroup".
