I mentioned this elsewhere in the book, but I thought it bore repeating here because this is such a cool tip and TextEdit totally supports it (not all Mac OS X apps do). If you've got a block of text formatted just the way you want it (font, type style, size, color, etc.), you can copy just that formatting (not the words themselves) by highlighting the text and pressing Command--Option-C. Then, to apply that copied formatting to another block of text that's formatted with different font styles, sizes, etc., just highlight the other text and press Command-Option-V. That text will now have the same font formatting as your original text. Big, big timesaver. |
