You can also burn CDs with Stomp RecordNow Max (there is a 30-day working demo on the CD with this book).

Open the program. Close the wizard. You'll get the window seen in Figure 13.6.

Drag your audio files onto the window on the right. You can then rearrange the order by dragging the files around if you want.

Hit the red Burn button. Your CD burner tray should open up when the burn is done and politely hand you your disc.

Again, you can save the list to make more copies or use this as a master to take to a duplicator.

"Watson, Come Here. I Need You!"

The first time I burned a CD of my music, I felt powerful. Doesn't burning CDs make you feel a little good? It's fun, no?

Love it. This is why we make art. It feels good.

Look at putting art out into the world as putting a message in a bottle . It's communication with the unknown. Tapping into the Universe through people you may never meet. Though when you go on tour, you may actually get to meet them! One cool thing about the art I do is: Though I may not move a million "units," I do touch people's souls. I get at least five e- mails a week from strangers saying, "Dude, your movie/book/CD rocks. If you're ever in _________, you can stay with us."

NOTE

You don't have to sell a billion copies of a release to be making good music and affecting people. Mike Switzer of the Hawthorne Improv Music Collective in Houston has one extra dedicated computer running all the time burning CDs. The collective has about 100 releases, in runs of approximately 30 copies each. They sell them for between one and five bucks each. They swap with other players and even give them away. The point is just to get them out there.
