Part IV: Dynamic Environments

Part IV covers a select range of practices and tools for building and testing enterprise software. We look at ways to design an efficient build process that provides the entire project team with a productive working environment. In addition, the benefits of integrated development tools for helping improve productivity are examined, with examples using the popular open source development platform Eclipse.

Part IV also addresses the issues surrounding software quality and rapid development, and describes how a test-driven approach can produce high-quality systems and facilitate rapid application development.

We conclude with a look at the formal testing process and evaluate open source tools that reduce testing times without compromising the accuracy or rigor of the testing process.
