USING THE TRACKER

The Comments tab helps you keep track of comments in one document. However, sometimes you have more than one document in a project. Enter the Tracker. This little utility shows you a list of all reviews you have initiated or all reviews you are participating in. The Tracker can be opened from the Comments menu or from the Options button on the Comments tab.

You don't need to add your review files to the Tracker; whenever you initiate a review or are invited to participate in one, the Tracker adds the files to one of two virtual folders in its left panel: My Reviews or Participant Reviews. A third folder, Offline Reviews, lists PDF files from browser-based reviews that you have saved to your hard drive. By selecting any of these folders and clicking the New Folder button in the Tracker's taskbar, you can add subfolders if you are participating in several projects and need to keep your reviews organized.

You can also use the Tracker to invite more peers to a review that you have already initiated. To do this, open the My Reviews folder in the Tracker, access the context menu for the file you are interested in, and select Invite More Reviewers. A dialog prompts you to enter the email addresses to which Acrobat must send the file.

Selecting a file in the Tracker's list displays some information about the file in Tracker's right pane, including the type of review, the date the review was initiated, and a list of the email addresses to which it was sent. Again, you don't need to enter any of this information manually; the Tracker does it automatically. If you want to work on a file listed in the Tracker, double-click it to open in Acrobat. If you need to send your users a reminder (in case some of them haven't sent their reviews yet), select the appropriate file in the Tracker's list, right-click the file, and select Send Review Reminder from the context menu. Tracker uses your default email client to create and display a new email message. You can customize the contents and the addresses in the To field before clicking the Send button.
