Hour 23. Working on Large Projects and in Team Environments

 < Day Day Up >

What You'll Learn in This Hour:

  • How to implement traditional production concepts, such as code data separation

  • How to create and use Library items for authortime sharing

  • How to develop naming conventions and enhance your productivity by using other methods

So far in this book you've been doing all the work yourself without any help. Although creating an entire Flash site by yourself is possible, a team with a variety of skills can usually do a better job. Instead of trying to do everything yourself, build a team in which each person can specialize. One person could create the audio, another person could design the graphics, and still another could do the programming. The roles can be divided even further. Not only does this mean your end product will be better, but you can also produce more output in a shorter time period because many people are working simultaneously.

The result of a team effort can be great. However, doing a team project well is not easy. There are countless opportunities for extra work and conflicts technical conflicts that can cause some components of a project to simply not work. This hour, you'll study some general ways to work in a team environment and learn many Flash-specific approaches.
