In this chapter, we've examined two of the most useful troubleshooting and learning tools you will have at your disposal through SMS: status messages and log files. While status messages will provide you with most of the information you will need to successfully monitor and troubleshoot SMS component activity, the log files, when enabled, will give you that extra level of granularity that can so often provide the elusive bit of data needed to pull all the pieces of a puzzle together.
In Chapter 6, we will continue our exploration of troubleshooting and analysis tools as we discuss HealthMon, Network Trace, Network Monitor, and other helpful utilities.
