Chapter 45. The Future of C

Chapter 45. The Future of C#

IN BRIEF

This chapter will provide you with a brief preview of the features that will be available in the upcoming C# 2.0. At the time this book was being written, a beta version of the .NET Framework 2.0 was available for download from MSDN with the various Express editions of Visual Studio .NET 2005. Before that, a beta was made available to MSDN subscribers and PDC 2003 attendees for the "Whidbey" technology preview of Visual Studio. Before you attempt to use any of the code in this chapter, be sure that you consult the documentation from Microsoft concerning changes to C# 2.0 between the various betas. During the beta stage, Microsoft often takes feedback from testers and invariably renames various classes and namespaces as well as changes some functionality and, of course, fixes bugs.
