Anticipating Change of Team Membership


Figure 8.15 shows a common evolution of a team as a project moves through the phases. This diagram is for a larger project than PSP Tools, but the concepts apply to almost any project. The initial team will probably produce some code. Whether you call it a prototype, an early iteration, or some other name , whether it is real code that evolves into the final product, or throwaway code that helps you test ideas, it is code nonetheless.

There are many ways of organizing your project and, following the principle of configuring your process to fit the way you work, your team makeup might differ from the same type of team in another organization. The real lesson here is that you should plan for your team to change as the project progresses.
