Summary

Fedora includes a full range of tools for configuring and managing mail servers. For mail transfer agents, Fedora includes the Sendmail and Postfix software packages. Both are considered to be excellent, professional quality mail servers.

To allow users to access their mailboxes from the server, Fedora includes the dovecot and cyrus-imapd packages. Those packages implement POP3 and IMAP protocols to allow e-mail to be downloaded or manimpulated on the server. You can also configure SquirrelMail to allow users to access their mail through a Web-based interface.

To set up mailing lists in Fedora, you can use the mailman package. Besides including some very flexible configuration tools, mailman also provides simple Web-based access to mailing list preferences and archives.
