Visual filters and transitions are multimedia features that create visual effects for text, images, and other objects without imposing long download times on the user. These powerful tools are applied through the filter CSS attribute in Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 4.0 and later. Currently, this attribute is not included in the official W3C CSS specification, and Internet Explorer is the only browser that supports it. This chapter shows you how to use filters and transitions individually and together and explains how to script them.
