The main reason Adobe created the PDF format was to offer a file format for documents that could be viewed across different platforms (Mac, PC, Unix) without users having to worry about fonts or format compatibility. Acrobat's mandate was to make the creation and display of PDF files not only possible, but to accomplish it in an easy and hassle-free way. Acrobat has grown since its introduction and many features have been added to it (and to the PDF format). The mandate of making the creation of PDF files easy remains. Let's see what you can do with your PDFs.
