Publisher helps you design effective e-mail messages for personal or business use. You might create a holiday newsletter to send to your family, or The Garden Company might feature a new product or announce upcoming events through e-mail.
In this exercise, you will create an e-mail message to be sent to The Garden Company customers announcing an upcoming workshop on caring for rose bushes.
BE SURE TO start Publisher before beginning this exercise.
In the New Publication task pane, click Web Sites and E-mail , and then click E-mail .
The E-mail list expands to show the types of pre-formatted messages available, and the preview pane shows samples.
In the list, click Event/Speaker , and in the preview pane, click Brocade Event/ Speaker E-mail .
Publisher opens and formats the new message.
Click the text box containing the title, and type The Care and Feeding of Roses .
Click the date (00/00/00), and type the date of the first Saturday of next month.
Click the time, and type 9:00 AM .
Select the text that reads Contact person: 555-555-5555 , and type Contact: Ben Smith .
Select the text in the box directly below the one you just typed in, and type ben@gardenco.msn.com . Press [ENTER], and type 206 555 0100 .
Right-click the box that reads Sign Up Now , and click Hyperlink on the shortcut menu.
In the Address box, type www.gardenco.msn.com , and click OK .
Edit the other text boxes as you want to describe the event. You might replace the map image with your own map, or delete the boxes for one of the three speaker events.
On the File menu, click Close .
When prompted, click Yes to save your publication.
In the Save as dialog box, browse to the My Documents\Microsoft Press\Office 2003 SBS\Email folder, and in the File name box, type RoseWorkshop . Then click Save.
Publisher saves and closes your e-mail message.
