1.	A file becomes fragmented when it no longer occupies contiguous disk space.
2.	Disk Defragmenter helps to optimize hard-drive activity by reorganizing and rewriting the data on your hard drive so that the files occupy contiguous clusters.
3.	The Analyze button allows you to perform a check to see whether the partition contains fragmented files.
4.	A file may still be fragmented after you run Disk Defragmenter if the file was in use or the system could not get exclusive access to the file. To prevent this from happening, you should close all programs before using Disk Defragmenter.
