In Normal view, click the slide to which you want to assign an action button.
Open the Slide Show menu and choose Action Buttons .
Click an action button in the submenu that appears.
Click on the slide where you want to insert the action button.
INTRODUCTION
You can add action buttons to your slides that allow you to move back and forth to other slides during the presentation. For example, if you want to refer back to an important chart on the first slide in the presentation, you can add action buttons to other slides that allow you to jump back to the first slide whenever you need to.
TIP
Action Button Ideas
You can use action buttons in a variety of ways. For example, if your presentation is self-viewing, you can insert Next Slide and Previous Slide buttons that take the user back or forward a slide as the user reads at his or her own pace.
The Action Settings dialog box opens. Click the Hyperlink to option button.
Click the drop-down arrow and select the slide you want to jump to.
Click OK .
PowerPoint adds the action button to the slide. When you view the show, you can click the button to activate the link.
TIP
Moving and Resizing Action Buttons
You can move and resize action buttons just as you do other slide objects. See Part 5 to learn more about working with slide objects.
TIP
Activating a Program
You can use the Run Program option in the Action Settings dialog box to associate a program with the action button. When clicked, the button activates the program. You'll need to enter the path location of the program you want to execute, and the program must reside on the same drive or network as the slide show file.
