Chapter Summary

In this chapter, you learned about the range of DTS tasks that you can add to a package. You learned how to add additional functionality to the Transform Data task with the lookup query and learned how to use a Data Driven Query to add even more flexibility to your packages. It both cases, you were introduced to the use of ActiveX transformation scripts to enable this additional functionality at the Row Transform phase of the multiphase data pump. You were also introduced to the additional phases of the data pump that you can access in a package. Finally, you learned how to use the Execute Package task to begin creating a modularized data movement application.
