Using Flex Explorer to Learn About Simple Controls


Simple controls are the building blocks for creating Flex applications. Flex Explorer contains examples that show you how to execute the basic tasks for building an application. Most importantly, Flex Explorer gives you specific examples of how to use each component.

1.

Start Adobe Flex Builder 2, on Windows, by choosing Start > All Programs > Adobe > Adobe Flex Builder 2.

Select Help > Flex Start Page.

The Flex Start Page, provides a wealth of resources, including sample applications, Tutorials and Help files.

3.

Click the Run link next to Flex Component Explorer.

4.

Examine the MXML and the result for some of the simple controls by clicking the example links on the left.

5.

Close the web browser and then click the X in the Flex 2 Start Page tab to return to the Flex Builder editors.
