Moving Favorites and Cookies

[Previous] [Next]

Over time, you'll undoubtedly build up a sizable collection of favorites and cookies. You won't want to leave this collection behind if you purchase a new computer, or if you decide to use a Web browser other than Internet Explorer. Likewise, if you've built up a collection of bookmarks in Netscape Navigator and you decide to switch to Internet Explorer, you'll want to move those bookmarks to the Favorites menu.

Internet Explorer provides a wizard to simplify the task of moving these items. To use the wizard, open the File menu and choose Import And Export. The Import/Export Wizard appears and guides you through the process.

Use the same wizard when you want to import favorites or cookies from another computer or Web browser. If you're moving items from another computer, you must first export the items to a file on that computer, and then bring that file (via network or removable disk) to your new computer.
