INTRODUCTION
One of the things that people like most about word processing is that you can quickly change the font (typeface) and font size of your text. Font size is measured in points. (A 10-point to 12-point font is commonly used for body text.) Word assumes that you want to use a Times New Roman, 12-point font, but as you'll see here, you can change these settings with just a few mouse clicks.

Frequently Used Fonts

Choosing Types of Fonts
The symbols to the left of the font names in the Font list provide information about the font. The TT symbol indicates that the font is a TrueType font. These fonts are easy to use because they look the same onscreen as they do when printed. The printer icon indicates a printer font , which looks great when printed, but its onscreen appearance may not exactly match the printed version.
