Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services contains many features to help you more fully utilize Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007. In particular, SharePoint form libraries provide the primary integration point between Windows SharePoint Services and Office InfoPath 2007. Form libraries allow you to use and share InfoPath 2007 forms. An InfoPath form collects information from a user in a structured way. Form libraries provide a central location where users can fill out and store forms based on the same template. For example, you can use InfoPath 2007 to create purchase orders and subsequently store them in a SharePoint form library.
In this chapter, you will learn how to use InfoPath 2007 so as to work with SharePoint form libraries and the forms stored within these libraries. You will create a SharePoint form library and modify an existing form library from InfoPath 2007. You will then use InfoPath 2007 to create new forms based on a form library’s template as well as edit existing forms stored in the form library. In addition, you will create and modify a site content type based on an InfoPath 2007 template and associate this site content with a form library.
