Blog Content

One of the best things about creating and maintaining a blog is that you have complete control over its content. Write about anythingthings you do, things you think, things you like, things you don't like. That's what Maria does in Maria's WebLog. Or share information about a specific topic that interests yousports, current events, politics, cooking, books, or computer news and tips. That's what Miraz does in her MacTips.info blog. Your blog is your way to share information with the world.

In addition to text, a blog entry can include the following:

  • HTML formatting, to make content easier to read. For example, you can include headings, bulleted or numbered lists, and text formatting.

  • Links to other content on the Web. In fact, this is how blogging startedas a way to highlight and analyze other content.

  • Images, including photographs, to illustrate your posts.

In this chapter, we explain how to add content to your blog, including blog categories, posts and pages, and links.

Tip

  • Update your blog frequently, so it always has fresh content. If a visitor likes your blog but doesn't see something new each time he visits, he'll probably stop coming. Although there's no rule for how often you should update your blog, we recommend at least once a week. We usually update our blogs several times a daywhen time permits, of coursebut certainly no less often than several times a week.
