Visio

The CD includes two product demos from Visio (www.visio.com). Visio Enterprise targets enterprise information applications. It works with both Jet and Microsoft SQL Server databases, and it can draw the relationships between entities in a database design within either database. Visio Professional targets information system and business applications. Both packages share a core set of drawing templates, and each has special templates as well. You can also use your Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) programming skills to extend either package. Visio Professional can also draw entity relationships diagrams, but it has additional interfaces for drawing business charts based on the contents of an Access database.

Visio Enterprise 5.0

You can design and model your enterprise information architecture using Visio Enterprise. You can reengineer databases, synchronize models with databases, and create customizable reports. You can model using UML 1.2, integrate with Microsoft Repository 2.0, and reverse-engineer Microsoft Visual C++ and Visual Basic code into UML models.

Visio Professional 5.0

You can use this package to diagram your information systems and business processes. Visio Professional is for business analysts who design applications and databases and communicate their relationships. You can choose from a selection of shapes and wizards developed specifically for network, software, and database diagramming. You can plan software development using leading methodologies, such as UML diagrams. You can also create database proposals using data flow diagrams or entity relationship diagrams.
