41.7. Conclusion

In this chapter, you have learned about essential troubleshooting steps and applications. You are likely already familiar with the applications discussed. However, this chapter is more than just a review of these applications and daemons. It is meant to help you approach these applications with the goal of trying to solve problems.

Before you take the LPI Exams, take the time to consider the steps that you would take to resolve a problem. You likely will find yourself thinking less about command options and configuration files and more about how to diagnose problems, make educated guesses, and formulate solutions. While you will need to use many applications, including some discussed in this chapter, you will likely find that the key to understanding troubleshooting relies on knowing when and how to use these applications. You will also find that the LPI Exam takes this approach.
