The startup options discussed in this chapter can all be accessed through XP's graphical interface. Other startup behaviors can be configured through scripted operations, but a full discussion of these scripted startup options is beyond the scope of this book.
Most XP configuration and administrative changes can be accomplished through its graphical interface; you just have to know where to look. To access the startup options, you need to first open the System Properties Control Panel applet. You can do so in one of two ways:
