If you use a modem connection to access your e-mail server, you can close the connection while still working in Outlook. This allows you to free up your phone line or, if you pay for your connection based on the time you are connected, save on connection time. Working offline in Outlook does not affect any Outlook features or capabilities. E-mail that you create while working offline is held in the Outbox until you reconnect to your Internet connection. To work offline, select the File menu and then select Work Offline . If you are prompted to confirm the closing of your dial-in connection, click Yes . To go back online, click File then Work Online . |
