Introduction

Although there are no objectives on this exam that directly test your knowledge of ADO.NET, many of the objectives presume that you'll have this knowledge. That's understandable because ADO.NET is one of the core .NET technologies that Microsoft expects every .NET developer to understand. Although many books on the market cover ADO.NET in depth, this appendix gives you the basics just in case you need a quick refresher. You'll learn about the overall architecture of ADO.NET, the specific objects in ADO.NET and its constituent namespaces, and some of the common data access tasks that you can perform with those objects.
