Now that your application has been tested, debugged, and tuned, it's time to deploy the application to its final destination. Usually, system administrators are responsible for deploying the application. However, understanding deployment issues can help designers and developers make better decisions about the application's physical design and implementation. And anyway, you're going to need to deploy the application to your development or test environment in order to test, debug, and tune it. In this chapter, we look at some of the considerations that go into defining an application distribution topology as well as the techniques used to deploy MTS application packages.
