Introduction

When you need to create a great looking publication, such as a business card, letterhead, newsletter, Web page, or brochure, use Microsoft Office Publisher 2003 to get the job done quickly and easily.

Publisher is a desktop publishing program ”software you can use to combine text, graphics, and original drawings with sophisticated formatting, all in one easy-to-use package. With Publisher you can use creative layout and design techniques that were once in the exclusive realm of high-priced publishers or graphic designers.

Publisher combines the fundamental power of a word processor and the creativity of a graphics package into a program that is flexible and easy to use. This combination lets you create unique and exciting documents that you could not easily create in any other single application.

After you create a publication, you can enter and edit text. Text objects are enclosed in a frame, which serves as a container to hold a block of text. If you created a publication with a task pane, you see placeholder text, which you replace with your own text in the frame. You can add more text by adding new text frames or by inserting text into an existing text frame. For example, to add a new heading (or some other text) to a brochure, you create a text frame. You create new frames using the corresponding frame tool located on the toolbar at the left side of the window.

Once you have created the publication you want, you can print it on your own printer, package it ( electronically ) to submit it to a commercial printer, or even publish it on the World Wide Web. In fact, you can do all of these things to the same publication.
