When I click and drag a shape, why does the stroke get left behind? | Clicking to select a shape that has both a stroke and a fill selects only the stroke or the fill, depending on which has been clicked. You must double-click a shape to select both. Alternatively, you can click and drag with the Selection tool to drag a selection marquee around both. | Why do bitmaps appear blurry in my published movie? Check the Properties of bitmaps that appear blurry (Ctrl+click or right-click in the Library and choose Properties). Make sure that the Allow Smoothing option is unchecked. Smoothing anti-aliases a bitmap by smoothing the edges, which can make images appear blurry or out of focus. Also, in the Publish Settings dialog box, select the HTML tab and set the quality to Best. Is there any way to trace a bitmap so that it is more detailed in some areas of an image and less so in others? The trace settings only work globally, producing a standard level of detail throughout an image. However, it is possible to trace the same image twice, with differing amounts of detail, and combine the two by aligning the images on top of each other and erasing the unwanted portions. In this way, you can create a simple tracing for the majority of an image and include more detail in selected areas. This method does increase file size , so use it sparingly. |
