Navigating in a Document

InDesign provides keyboard shortcuts for navigating quickly from page to page in a document and for navigating in XML.

Keyboard Shortcuts for Navigating in a Document

Windows [Ctrl]-[Shift]-[PageUp], Mac [ z ]-[Shift]-[PageUp]

Go to the first page in the document

Windows [Ctrl]-[Shift]-[PageDown], Mac [ z ]-[Shift]-[PageDown]

Go to the last page in the document

Windows [Shift]-[PageUp], Mac [Shift]-[PageUp]

Go to the previous page

Windows [Shift]-[PageDown], Mac [Shift]-[PageDown]

Go to the next page

Windows [Alt]-[PageUp], Mac [Option]-[PageUp]

Go to the previous spread

Windows [Alt]-[PageDown], Mac [Option]-[PageDown]

Go to the next spread

Windows [Ctrl]-[PageUp], Mac [ z ]-[PageUp]

Go back to the last page you worked on

Windows [Ctrl]-[PageDown], Mac [ z ]-[PageDown]

Go forward again after going back

Windows [Ctrl]-[J], Mac [ z ]-[J]

Select the page number in the page box

Type the number of the page you want to move to, and then press [Enter] (on Windows) or [Return] (on the Mac).
