Apodcast is an audio file that exists on its own, tethered only by an RSS feed. That's all well and good, but most people prefer to have a web log (blog) to go with the podcast. A blog allows podcasters to post show notes, list contact info, and give the podcast a tie to the visual world. Importantly, the blog is where people who do not quite get podcasting yet can go to manually download your show. Some podcasters prefer to expand their site to include a great deal more content, supporting the podcast with a full website.
