Writing Recognition Game

The purpose of Writing Recognition Game is to help you increase your writing-recognition accuracy. The object of the game is to write letters as quickly as possible to save Farmer Joe's crops. Figure 14.23 shows what the game looks like when you start it.

To start the game, just tap the New Game button in the bottom-right corner of the screen. After you start the game, start writing letters in the green Write Here box and tapping the Fire! button in order to knock out the raindrops falling from the sky. The better your handwriting-recognition speed and accuracy, the higher your score. Figure 14.24 shows a game in progress.

Eventually, a raindrop will escape you, and the game will end. Your objective is to cause a drought.

Changing Difficulty Levels

You can change the difficulty level of the writing-recognition game by tapping Game and then selecting Beginner, Intermediate, or Expert.

Basic Strategy

The basic strategy of this game is to be accurate and fast with your handwriting. To get a higher score, you must be able to knock the most raindrops out of the sky. Therefore, you need to hit the raindrops before they hit the ground. The more raindrops you knock out before one hits the ground, the higher your score.

What works best for me is to first write the letters that I have the most problems with. For example, the letters I and K are problematic for me, so whenever I see them begin to fall from the sky, I try to knock them out first even though other letters may be lower. It will take me more time to knock out those letters than the letters I don't have problems with. If I let one of my problem letters get farther down, it increases the chances that the raindrop will hit the field.

The other thing to keep in mind is to make sure that the letters you write are fully formed, and that you accurately tap the Fire! button.
