Summary

This chapter has shown you different techniques for dealing with the differences between server-side and client-side business rules. Having looked at the amount of business rules for an object as simple as the Employee object, you have seen how important business rules are and that in the majority of applications, they are the application.

You have covered one way of performing object aggregation and you have examined some of the pros and cons of this method. You have also briefly touched on some other methods of aggregating objects. This gives you a solid point of reference on how to perform this task in your own applications.

You learned how to easily load and save image information to and from SQL Server and how to display that information in a picture box control.

At this point, you have built as much of the NorthwindTraders application as you will be building in this book. The rest of the book concentrates on streamlining code using reflection, creating and consuming a Web service, building a Web site using your already-built components, and localizing the application for use in Spanish and French.

In the next chapter, you will see how to use reflection to achieve a marked reduction in the number of lines of code that you write. You will actually be able to quantify the amount of lines of code saved and what you will see is an application that is maintained much more easily and efficiently.
