DAP Lose Their StyleMy page opens with the default font (Times New Roman), default colors (black and white), and no background image. You moved the page's PageName.htm file to another folder, but you didn't move the associated PageName_files folder to the folder containing the .css files, which define the page's styles. When DHTML pages can't find their .css files, you don't receive an error message. Always move the PageName.htm file and the associated PageName_files folder as a pair. DAP Clients Can't Find the Jet Data SourceI receive an "Unable to initialize the data provider" or "FilePathName is not a valid path" message when I try to run the DAP that I deployed on the network. The connection string for the Jet data source of your page(s) is incorrect. The connection string includes the well-formed (complete) path to the associated .mdb file. When the client executes the DAP from the file or Web server, the location of the shared .mdb file specified by the XML <a:ConnectionString> element is incorrect. You must use Uniform Naming Convention (UNC) paths to specify the path, as in \\ServerName\ShareName\FileName.mdb. The fastest method to correct this problem is to make a backup copy and open the offending DAP .htm file in Notepad. Search for <a:Connect, and substitute \\ServerName\ShareName\ for the C:\FolderName\ path in the connection string. Save your changes, and retest the page from a network client. |
