In the last two chapters, we created custom-built models and scenes. In this chapter, we’re going to return to the design process and create a new game using a custom-created scene, and then we’ll change the game to use a prebuilt scene.
First, open T3DGM and create a new game. Choose User Scene from the scrollbar and then click Custom Scene. Choose Jungle as a category, and using Figure 26.1 as a reference, create a scene. It does not have to be exactly the same as the scene in the figure, but do something similar. Make sure to set the beginning point, the end point, and the boss.
Figure 26.1: This is a reference for you to use to make your own scene.
When you finish the scene, click the OK button and give it the name Jungle. You will now see your custom design visible as a user-created scene (see Figure 26.2). Choose the scene and then click the Player icon so that we can pick the character we’ll control. For this example, we’ll create a First Person Shooter, so choose the Shooter category and then pick the Crossbow from the available options (see Figure 26.3).
Figure 26.2: The custom design is visible.
Figure 26.3: The crossbow is our selection.
Next, click on the Player Bullet button and then select Quarrel from the list (see Figure 26.4). After the player bullet, we can click on the Enemy button and then choose Jungle from the list of available categories. We’ll now pick Goblin Scout (see Figure 26.5) from the list.
Figure 26.4: Choose Quarrel for a weapon.
Figure 26.5: Our enemy is the Goblin Scout.
We don’t need to choose a weapon for the enemy or obstacles, so we can move on to the end of scene boss. You can pick Forest Troll from the list (see Figure 26.6). We are now finished, so you can run the final product (see Figure 26.7).
Figure 26.6: Choose the Forest Troll.
Figure 26.7: Run the final project.
