The kickoff meeting is the first in a series of team meetings. It is critically important to team members because it provides a broad introduction to the project, and due to its importance, attendance is mandatory. Among the topics covered at the meeting are project planning, including the details of the Gantt chart used in project planning, and the methods used to plan and execute the IPM project. In addition, team members are put through a series of exercises and discussions. At this time, they learn what lays ahead for them throughout the project.
