Applying a Design Template

PowerPoint design templates feature customized color schemes, slide and title masters, and fonts that come together to create a particular impression . You can apply a design template to a presentation at any time ”even if you created the presentation with a different template. When you apply a design template to a presentation, the masters and color scheme of the new template replace the original ones. You can conveniently view design templates in the Slide Design task pane.

Apply a Design Template

Click the Format menu, and then click Slide Design to open the Slide Design task pane.

Locate and click the design template you want to apply.

Did You Know?

You can use a toolbar button to apply a design template. Click the Slide Design button on the Formatting toolbar, click Design Templates if necessary, and then click the template you want.

Apply a Design from an Existing Presentation

Click the Format menu, and then click Slide Design to open the Slide Design task pane.

At the bottom of the Slide Design task pane, click Browse to open the Apply Design Template dialog box.

Click the Files Of Type list arrow, and then click Presentations And Shows.

Locate and select the presentation whose design you want to apply.

Click Apply.
