There are numerous commercial and open source implementations of WBEM/CIM ”11 are listed in the WBEMSource software directory at http://www.wbemsource.org/registry/ .

In most chapters, I have tried to avoid using information specific to any particular implementation. This has not been possible in Chapter 12 where I give coding examples. Having to choose a particular implementation, I selected the one with which I have the most experience: openPegasus. This implementation is open and the code is freely available to everyone from the openPegasus Web site ( http://www.openpegasus.org ). Other C++ implementations require very similar code.
