Updating Cygwin

After installing Cygwin and some applications, you'll want to make sure your software is up-to-date. You can do this every month or so, unless you know that a specific, important application has been updated or added recently.

To update Cygwin

• Follow the directions in the "Getting Cygwin" and "Installing Cygwin" sections.
  
  

You use the same setup.exe file for installing Cygwin as you do for updating it. Any time you run the installer, it'll look for updated versions of any package you have installed and will install them unless you specifically tell it not to.

You can also take this opportunity to uninstall programs you're not using, or to add something interesting that you don't already have installed.
