When you use the standard Google search engine to look for numbers , you can't be sure what you'll find. Numeric information is critical in today's society, but it's also meaningless, in most cases, without a frame of reference. In short, you need a search that adds a frame of reference so the number has meaning. According to an InfoWorld article (http://www.infoworld.com/article/04/01/13/HNgoogletools_1.html), a new Google numeric search will have this capability. You'll be able to perform searches for UPS, FedEx, and U.S. Postal Service packages based on a tracking number. You can also perform tasks such as checking the status of an airline flight based on the flight's numeric information.
This feature will appear as part of Google Web Services as soon as it's released. Unfortunately, the feature wasn't available for testing as of the date of writing. It will likely be available at some point after this book appears in print.
