If you use your Treo to schedule a considerable portion of your life, you will no doubt accumulate quite a few events over time. And unlike contacts and some other PIM data, events probably won't mean nearly as much after they drift into the past. Fortunately, the Calendar application includes a purge feature for deleting all events older than a certain date. For example, you can delete all the events older than a week in the past with a single command. This is a useful way to conserve memory and clear out old events you no longer need. To purge events in the Calendar application, follow these steps:
TIP The Purge screen provides a handy way to blitz all old events at once. Of course, purging events like this can also be dangerous if you aren't careful. Just make sure you want to purge the events in question before going through with the purge operation. Unless you have lots of free memory and are attached to old events, I encourage you to purge events on a regular basis. You can always choose to archive them on your desktop computer as part of the purge process. That way, they aren't completely lost forever if you prefer to keep a history of your meetings and appointments. |
