Attenuator

Sometimes, after dynamics and effects processing, the signal is just too hot for the EQ stage, as evidenced by the IN/OUT VU meters in the EQ section. You can use the ATTEN control to bring these signals down to a usable level. You may also dial in 6dB of gain to boost a weak signal, but remember that the ATTEN control is the signal after the dynamics and effects processing.

Hint: Boost that Track

If you find that a track needs to be louder to properly trigger the Dynamics processor, your first inclination might be to goose the Attenuator. But the Attenuator controls the signal after the Dynamics processor! You may add up to 6dB of gain before the Dynamics processor by adjusting the Phrase Parameter section of the problem phrase.
