Scenario

The ORDENTR program that you used until now did not expect any parameters, thus illustrating the simplest case of invoking a program. I have provided an additional program that expects the customer number to be supplied at invocation. This program obtains the parameter value and prefills the Customer number entry field on the first panel. The first example in this chapter shows you how to supply a constant as a parameter to the program. The second example shows you how easy it is to prompt for a parameter and pass this value to the WebFaced application, because the WebFacing Tool actually generates the parameter entry fields for you on the initial Web page.

The third exercise assumes you need to invoke the WebFaced application from a different program or a different Web page. In that exercise, you build a simple servlet and a Web page that asks for the name of the iSeries host on which the user wants the WebFaced application to run. The servlet then invokes the WebFaced application using the server name provided.
