If you have written embedded code but are unfamiliar with C# and the principles behind .NET, this book is for you. If you have written C# applications for the desktop but are unfamiliar with embedded development, this book is also for you. It assumes you have some familiarity with embedded development concepts and prior programming experience. This book is not a C# tutorial but does spend an appropriate amount of time going over the basics of C# in the context of the .NET Micro Framework, as some things work a bit differently from the way in which experienced C# developers for the desktop might be accustomed. Our hope is that developers interested in getting more from their time exploring the world of tiny devices, sensors, and machines will find this text a useful first step.
