The techniques discussed in previous chapters are extended here to allow one to analyze the performance of queuing models with load-dependent devices. Exact algorithms are presented for single class closed QNs with load-dependent servers and for single and multiple class open QNs with load-dependent servers. An approximate algorithm for multiple-class closed QNs is also given. The chapter also introduces a method for analyzing queuing models, called Flow Equivalent Server Method, which is the basis for solution techniques for non product-form queuing models, covered in the next chapter. |
