Summary

3 4

In this chapter, we have examined the SELECT statement, the separate clauses that can be included in the SELECT statement and how they can be used, search conditions, and functions. You've learned about logical operators, joins, aliases, pattern matching, grouping and sorting results, and more. We've covered a lot of information, but there's still much more you can do with a SELECT statement. In Chapter 20, we'll look at some of the more advanced options you can use in the SELECT statement, and we'll examine the other data manipulation statements—INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE. In Chapter 15, we'll look at how to modify database tables.
